Pre-production started on Pavel Lungin's ESAU

The Meir Shalev best-selling novel's film adaptation will be filmed this spring in Israel

We're happy to announce that yesterday we've started full-scale pre-production on the  esteemed director Pavel Lungin's ESAU. The film, based on the best-selling novel by Israeli author Meir Shalev, tells the story of a 40-year-old writer who, after over twenty years of life abroad, returns to his family house in Israel where he was raised and that he escaped – to face his brother who stayed instead, inherited their family business and married the woman who they both wanted. ​The entire English-speaking film will be shot in Israel, and the 40 days principal photography will commence on April 8th with a mixed Israeli-Russian-German crew and an American-Israeli-Russian cast TBA during the Berlin International Film Festival.
